This week in focus
Yoga - Hatha Pradipika

Outside my classes, I rarely speak of yoga. Yet it is an area on which I often get asked various questions, including some statements made by Rudolf Steiner - statements that were totally relevant for the times made and the austerities of yoga that had already penetrated into European the 19th century.

Yoga as we have it today has come a long way in the West (and in the East) over the last 150 years. Some of the classical texts have been recovered, and its various elements amplified in various ways.

Aside from the opening statement from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras - which reminds the reader that ‘yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind’ - there are a small number of other ‘classical’ texts that are frequently mentioned yet, unfortunately, remain as frequently un-studied - even within yoga teaching programmes. One of these is undoubtedly Swatmarasama Hatha Yoga Pradīpikā.

Here the book is divided into four small sections: the first on Asanas; the second on Pranayama; the third on the Bandhas; and the fourth on states of Samadhi. Though there is much overlap with the Yoga Sutras, there is also much that remains not only distinct, with excursions into important considerations for Consciousness - or what we may at times refer to as ‘spiritual awakening’. One such brief statement, or a prelude to the experience, is in Chapter 4, verse 16:

‘Remaining in the most suitable place, having found how to penetrate Shushumna and make Prana flow through the middle channel, it should be constrained within brahmarandhra, the centre of higher consciousness’

There are, of course, various translations (and even more commentaries), each of which brings light to the meaning of the practices - and it is the practices that are of greater importance than the texts, which remain manuals for development through practice.

Over February and March (8 weeks), we’ll be offering a short course in Margaret River focussing on this text (including some practices). If you’re in the area and would like to participate, come along or pre-book here:

Spiritual Formation

Personal Development has traditionally focussed on spiritual formation. In the manner that I work, I include practices inclusive of imagery and meditation. If you are interested in finding out more, please be in contact.

Following an initial consultation, deepening work requires commitment for a once-a-month meeting for either 6 or 12 months (renewable if desired).

Home Schooling Teens - Balingup area

2026 Term 1 - February - March

12-17 y.o. Homeschooling - 8 weeks resumes in February

Western Culture is steeped within a Christian framework that is, increasingly, being caricatured through some of its historical failings. Yet to understand much of the artwork, our holidays, even how it is that we have weekends as non-working days (at least for some of us), to partake and understand the foundational texts is important. We will read through the Gospel of St Matthew (and where relevant, cross-reference to Greek philosophy, mesapotamian astronomy/astrology, and their respective developments over the course of the ensuing centuries). I recommend the Jerusalem Bible as a good translation for the new Testament.

Similarly, Eastern culture has heavily been infused with streams emanating from the Upanishads, and one of the most influential line is through the Advaitist tradition through Sankaracharya's AtmaBhoda - a versed book that, like many others in the tradition, holds in condensed form a vast worldview and way of being.

9:30 - 11:30 BOOKS - Gospel of St Matthew - Jerusalem Bible translation (available as a pdf here - Matthew only), and the Atma Bodha (available as a pdf here).

12:30 - 2:30 ART - focussed on Geometry and astronomy

ASEA

Renu 28

Much research has emerged over the last two decades on the functions of redox processes in maintaining cellular health. ASEA products delivers redox molecules that may assist in the process!

On a very personal note, last year (in 2025), a member of my extended family suffered from severe burns (an understatement), was placed in an induced coma for 3 weeks, and flown to one of Australia’s main repatriation hospital. His condition was touch-and-go for some time, and when finally emerging from the coma, some of his body was obviously quite severely affected.

Aside from various other support, it was found that applying Renu28 to his more severe areas (including his ear that was down to cartilage) helped his recovery at an incredible (‘unbelievable’ was the word used) rate. He has since returned home, and continues to apply Renu28 to the various parts of his body still rejuvenating.

Though the newer ASEAGold was also tried, it was the original Reny28 that was found to be the most effective.

800% Increase in Glutathione Efficacy

Researchers at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) performed in vitro tests to determine the antioxidant efficiency of the body’s most powerful natural antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD).

The results showed significant, well-defined effects. The cell extracts exposed to ASEA Redox Supplement exhibited 8 times the antioxidant efficiency for GPx, and 5 times antioxidant efficacy for SOD. This efficiency was evident especially at low-level concentrations of ASEA Redox Supplement, tested down to 2.5% of full strength.

What is the ASEA supplement and what are redox signalling molecules?

ASEA is a one of a kind supplement. It contains stabilised redox signalling molecules, which are essential for cellular communication and overall body function. These molecules are vital for all bodily processes. When the body produces enough of these molecules, they enable proper cell functioning, maintain balance, and support overall health.

What are redox signalling molecules?

Redox signalling molecules are naturally occurring in the body and are responsible for communication between cells. They play a crucial role in self-healing, detoxifying the body, and slowing down aging processes. Over the past two decades, research in this area has significantly advanced, making it one of the fastest-growing research fields. The PubMed features over 30,000 scientific articles on redox signalling, underscoring its importance.

How are redox molecules produced?

These molecules are naturally produced in our cells in mitochondria. However, their levels begin to decline after puberty. When the body no longer produces enough redox molecules, cellular communication slows down, leading to the natural aging process. This is why children heal quickly from wounds without scarring, while these processes slow down as we age.

In addition to aging, external factors like stress, pollution, diseases, poor diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, medications, radiation, and excessive physical exercise also reduce redox molecules in our cells. When the body experiences a redox imbalance, cells cannot communicate effectively, leading to diseases and accelerated aging.

The role of ASEA in regulating redox balance

By regularly partaking of ASEA supplement, redox molecules are replenished in the body, leading to a restored redox balance and improved cellular communication. This helps protect the cells, identify and repair damage at the cellular level, activates self-healing and detoxification, and promotes the formation of healthy cells. It also enhances the activation of signalling pathways at the genetic level, positively affecting five key areas of health: the immune system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, hormonal balance, and inflammation reduction. This has a beneficial impact on the entire body's health.

Additionally, consuming redox molecules increases the production of glutathione, one of the most important antioxidants in the body. Glutathione protects cells from free radicals, heavy metals, and oxidative stress while playing a key role in detoxification and maintaining cellular health. A deficiency in glutathione is increasingly linked to various diseases.

Redox molecules are naturally recognised by the body and used wherever they are most needed. They are available as the ASEA supplement, which works systemically, and as the Renu28 gel to be used topically (for example on wrinkles, scars, wounds, burns, acne, rashes, pain, inflammation, and injuries). Both ASEA and Renu28 gel are 100% safe to use, have no side effects, and are compatible with medications and other forms of therapy.

That’s it for this week.
