This week in focus
on Reading for Pleasure

It is interesting to (perhaps obviously) note that reading for simple and pure pleasure increases empathy, emotional self-regulation, critical thinking, and general wellbeing. Something that is all too quickly being forsaken, for many, by the more instant gratification of 30 second video snippets from apps ranging from Instagram to TikTok to FB and other ‘social’ platform reels.

Of course, when especially researching, we are able to find the details or insights for which we are searching with video content - which has a much greater ‘feel’ of similarity to full human interaction than reading provides… yet where the latter diminishes (usually) creative interpretation, imagination and focus, reading not only provides for these, as well as engages inspiration and the capacity for intuition.

Reading for simple pleasure… not for assessment, neither to treat it as ‘work’, but simply for the unadulterated joy of flowing into the insights, the tapestry, the narrative that humanity has long nurtured and cherished as, in so many ways, the foundation of cultural development.

The text read need not be an easy one…. it is more a case of simply caressing the surface of the story of shared insight and understanding, and allowing such to ignite one’s one inner journeys of discovery.

For various reasons, I was recently serendipitously revisiting Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull… I could not locate my two copies, and thus bought another (which I have since gifted). The simple depth and joy of the narrative, the imaginative metaphor of freedom as experienced and expressed, brings to light not only the importance of truth and freedom (two concepts ever so closely connected), as well as flow and love (two other concepts also ever so closely linked) - and I may as well here mention the narrative’s deep inner wisdom (closely connected to that of light).

I was again reminded, writing the above, of the incredible insights presented by both Rudolf Steiner and by Peter Deunov. The latter says that:

The ability to concentrate thought depends upon breathing, the more deeply a person breathes, the more easily they are able to concentrate.

At the same time, concentration also depends on the number of ideas occupying the mind, if a person holds too many ideas at once, they become scattered.

One should keep a single central idea in mind, around which all other ideas may gather.

To carry a sacred idea within does not mean thinking about it all day long.

It is enough to dwell on it for two minutes for that idea to begin to take shape and, in time, bear fruit.

That moment will become one of those never forgotten.

Esoteric Class, 12.06.1927

The beauty of the simple reading for pleasure includes that both thought and what Goethe calls precise imagination are engaged in a manner that, of its own accord, develops concentration - concentration that, similarly to the concentrated fire of a seed, develops to unveil the fullness that is to take place and grow of its own accord.

ASEA

Redox Supplement & Renu28

Much research has emerged over the last two decades on the functions of redox processes in maintaining cellular health. ASEA products delivers redox molecules that assist in this very process!

800% Increase in Glutathione Efficacy

Researchers at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) performed in vitro tests to determine the antioxidant efficiency of the body’s most powerful natural antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD).

The results showed significant, well-defined effects. The cell extracts exposed to ASEA Redox Supplement exhibited 8 times the antioxidant efficiency for GPx, and 5 times antioxidant efficacy for SOD. This efficiency was evident especially at low-level concentrations of ASEA Redox Supplement, tested down to 2.5% of full strength.

That’s it for this week.
